Maia LindamanMajor: Elementary Education Hometown: Cedar Falls What year is this for you in Spectrum Project? 2 What is your first memory of being really excited? My first memory of being really excited was when I was super young (I don’t know how old, maybe 4-5) and it was Christmas Eve. My brother and I begged our parents to be able to sleep on the couch downstairs by the tree so we could meet Santa. My parents said yes and I remember my brother and I were going to stay awake all night, but we probably passed out at 8 pm. Even though we never got to meet Santa, it’s still a really great memory. What three board or card games would you take with you if you were on a deserted island? Game #1: Settlers of Catan Game #2: Deck of Cards (to play Kings Corners and if there are other people there than spoons!)
Game #3: Dominoes

If someone said, "Let's go watch a game!" What kind of game would you hope to go watch? Anything that has someone I want to cheer on in it regardless of the sport! Have you ever been on a team that played games (e.g., volleyball, swimming, quidditch)? What team was it? Ok I’m not sure I know how to answer this question, lol sorry Hannah. If you mean like sports- I was on a lot of different teams when I was younger but my favorite was always dance. I also really liked being on the golf team. What are some small things that make your day better? A good cup of coffee, seeing a friend or family member, good conversation, hot yoga, eating a good meal, petting a dog, baths, painting When you were younger, what was something you'd LOVE to play and could do for hours? All of the kids in the neighborhood I grew up in would get together and we would play lots of games outside, but my favorite and the one I liked to play the most was Capture the Flag. That always had my vote no matter if we had just played. What games did you or do you play on long car trips? I don’t know what it’s called but I like the game where you go through the ABCs and for each letter you say a word that starts with that letter (ex: A- Aligator, B- Brownie, etc) and you try to make it though the entire alphabet while taking turns on repeating each of the words until someone messes up, then you have to start over! I’m sorry that was a very poor explanation
Which do you like better? Hide & seek or sardines? Sardines because you are around people more

What do you want to be when you “grow up”? This might sound cliche but it really is my dream to grow up and have my own classroom and be a special education teacher. It’s gonna be awesome. Tell us a funny story about play? When my whole family gets together we play a game called spinners and I always laugh because my grandpa insists on being the scorekeeper and somehow he always wins... What’s the best single day on the calendar? I love thanksgiving! Seeing family and eating a bunch of food- that’s my kind of day. Favorite video game of all time? I like playing pool with my friends on the texting games app. Sims is also a classic. If a genie gave you three wishes, what would they be? Wish #1: That I could transport- I wouldn’t have to plan a big trip to go see people in my family. It would also be really nice to not have to walk on campus in the winter. Wish #2: That I could pause time so I can get what I need to done but also be able to spend a lot of time doing the things that I enjoy.
Wish #3: It would be pretty cool to be able to speak every language!

What are you looking forward to in this year's Spectrum Project? I’m so excited for the spectrum project because we always have so much fun and everyone is smiling and joking and playing while also expressing themselves.
